The last trial took out the trial room itself, and seemingly resulted in your host deciding to conclude the exercise for...whatever reason. If nothing else, even if that proves to be a lie, it’s a development. That’s the most you can hope for right now.

[Today, it doesn't particularly matter where you are: maybe you're trying to read, waste time counting ceiling ties, having a cup of coffee, whatever it is when...

... Do you suddenly get the feeling that you're being watched by someone?

It won't take long to discover the source should you look around: in the upper corner of the room is the ghostly image of this fucking thing, floating there and... at the moment, just watching. Staring at you.

Because that's not unsettling or anything.]

[The Magician has been focusing on rearranging the parts he cannibalized from the exercise machines that he hasn't been noticing something approaching behind him. It would be utterly stupid and dangerous to work out here in the open, but he had thought that he would hear any would-be murderer.

How wrong he is. He stands up to stretch his arms before he notices the eye. He yelps.

And falls off the chair.]

[Despite the fact that the creature doesn't have a mouth, nor any real way of properly emoting, somehow it makes a noise that sounds an awful lot like laughter that is very identifiable of the former Vaati the Sorcerer.

Guess some things don't actually change: like being an asshole laughing at someone here.]

[The Magician shoves himself off of the floor and scrambles to get his hat and wig on straight, scowling at the floating eye on the other side of the room.]

Well it looks like you've seen better days. [That eyeball is peak #aesthetic - why can't Ales look awesome like that?]

[This sarcastic response is accompanied by a flutter of wings, before they speak again.]

Oh, I don't know about that--where I come from, the dead can find ways to accomplish things even from beyond the grave. So I'm optimistic, you could say.

[Mim is doing all of the above, partly because she's bored out of her mind, and partly because she wants to see just how long she can get the horrifying eye monster to creep on her before it gives up.]
