[Okay Scarlet Witch is either a mutant or got her powers from science, that totally doesn't count. And Doctor Strange- does he even exist in Spider-verse continuity, maybe. She's probably very annoyed by said existence.]
If it has internally consistent rules and limits, that means with proper observation and study it can be replicated, which means it's science. I, personally, have done and recreated things that would've had me burned at the stake in the wrong time period.
...but yes, this, specifically, is definitely bunk.
